Rapid discharge
This happens when there is a sudden drop in voltage due to heavy loads like starting an engine or running multiple electrical devices at once.

Slow discharge
This occurs over time as batteries discharge naturally due to usage or sitting idle for long periods of time without being used much or discharged regularly through normal use (such as driving).
